installation

blog specific

Blog users (admins) can enable or disable the plugin at their own discression.

To install a plugin you wish to make available to the users of your Lyceum installation, all you need to do is place the plugin (PHP file) in the src/lyceum/wp-content/plugins directory. When a user logs into Lyceum and clicks on one of their blogs at the top to go to that blog's admin panel, under 'plugins' there will be a list of the installed plugins and the user can choose to activate / deactivate them for that specific blog.

system wide

The system admin can enable or disable the plugin but it will affect all blogs.

If you wish to install a system-wide plugin which will affect all blogs, place the PHP file in the src/lyceum/wp-content/systemplugins directory. Then log in as 'admin' and under System Settings, the first link will take you to the page to manage system-wide plugins.

Please Note

In theory, most plugins should work with Lyceum, however it is possible that some plugins require modification in order to function in the multiple blog environment (such as adding an extra 'blogname' variable). We do not have the resources to go through and test all the available plugins, but we encourage you to provide us with feedback.

There is a discussion about having a repository of plugins and themes so that users can share. The discussion can be found here: Addons repository.
